The Department of Theater started the 2023–2024 academic year with an international workshop. Yoshiko Chuma, one of New York's most important performance artists, choreographer, and artistic director of The School of Hard Knocks, held a workshop on performance and interdisciplinary studies with the students of the Department of Theater on September 26–27, 2023. The two-day workshop, coordinated by Şafak Ersözlü, one of the founders of our external stakeholder Open Studio, which has previously collaborated with the Department of Theater, and our department faculty members Associate Professor Esra Çizmeci and Assistant Professor Şebnem Yüksel, was an inspiring and enjoyable work for our students. At the end of the workshop, a consensus was reached on developing and maintaining relations with both of our external stakeholders and producing new projects.
