The play performances, which were announced in December with the title "The Department of Theatre is seeing off the year 2023 with plays," have started. The first play was performed on December 7, 2023, with the premiere in Turkey of the play titled "Spring Station." The first performance of the play, written and directed by the Head of the Department of Theatre, Asst. Prof. Dr. V. Özge Zeren, choreographed and stage designed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Şebnem Yüksel, was held at the Skopje Albanian Theatre last July. From Department of Theatre, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Esra Çizmeci worked as performance dramaturg, Lect. Yonca Yüksel as music consultant, Res. Asst. Zafer Öncül as actor coach and director's assistant, and Department of Theatre student Nuri Cabaroğlu as director's assistant, technical design, and control. From Department of Textile and Fashion Design, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kenan Saatçioğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gülşah Polat, Lect. Şule Günal, Res. Asst. Şule Öztürk, and Lect. Vahid Novruzov, who is from the Department of Painting, also made important contributions to the visual design of the play. A total of 16 students from the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years of the Department of Theatre took part in the play as actors. Our Dean Prof. Yeşim Zümrüt and Vice Deans Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kenan Saatçioğlu and Asst. Prof. Dr. Müjde Yücel Coşar attended as audience members to this premiere in our own country and on our own stage. The performance, which took place with intense audience participation, will meet with the audience again in the future. Our December plays will be performed on December 20, 2023, with "Faust" and on December 26, 2023, with "Kafka: Father and Son."
