The Theatre Department celebrated March 27th, World Theatre Day, with two student projects. The events, attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Evren Karayel Gökkaya and our Dean Prof. Dr. Didem Çatal, began with the performance of "I Was In My House and I Waited for the Rain to Come" directed by senior student Seda Nur Yıldırım at Studio 142. The play, written by Jean-Luc Lagarce and translated by Ayberk Erkay, was directed by Seda Nur Yıldırım as part of the Play Project course under the supervision of Research Assistant Dr. Özge Bozdoğan. Students Beyza Çoban, Eslem Bay, and Pelin Dersuniyelioğlu performed in the production.
Following the first play, the second performance, "Trace" (İz), directed by senior student Almina Durğan, took the stage at the NFK Theatre Hall. Almina Durğan directed the play, written by Fatma Özcan, as part of the Play Project course under the guidance of Research Assistant Zafer Öncül. Students Nil Ergen and Sude Kaput starred in the production.
Before the on-stage performances, first-year students Cemre Su Özgür, Çağla Karaeğemen, Deniz Terzioğlu, Enes Şevik, Marziye Kahraman, and Zeynep Nisa Uysun read the 2025 World Theatre Day International Message, authored by Theodoros Terzopoulos.
